Rocky Mount North Carolina Snow Birds - Bring Your Cat's & Dog's Too!

Written By: Tara Nelson - General Manager - Country Inn & Suites, Rocky Mount

October to April the migration down I-95 from New York to Florida begins. What migration, you ask? I’m speaking of the Snow-Bird migration. Still a little confused? A Snow-Bird is what you are called if you live in the northern states attempting to escape the ruthless winter to the sunny shores of Florida. What better place to make a pit stop than Country Inn & Suites, Rocky Mount, NC. Our hotel is located midway between New York and Florida and just a mile and a half jump off of the interstate.

Our award winning Rocky Mount, NC hotel staff greets every guest as we’ve known them for years. You are always welcomed by freshly baked cookies and hot coffee or tea, or simply the suggestion of a great meal from an area restaurant such as The Highway 64 Diner.

Guests are encouraged to enjoy the great North Carolina weather on our relaxing front porch, to unwind from a long day’s trip with one of the best-selling books from our Read-It & Return It library. Or better yet, relaxing in our wonderful hot tub or heated indoor pool.

One of the travel patterns we’ve noticed from our migrating Snow-birds tends to be they will often travel with pet(s). Therefore, our Rocky Mount, NC pet friendly hotel offers a select number of pet friendly rooms and a scenic walking area for your pet to relax as well.

Often we are asked what is there to do in Rocky Mount. Well depending on what you would like to do, Rocky Mount, NC has several wonderful attractions for all ages. But one of our favorites to recommend is the Sylvan Heights Bird Park.

Once the flock is well rested and ready to continue on their journey, Country Inn & Suites, Rocky Mount, NC provides them with a full hot and healthy breakfast, fresh hot coffee and even a warm cookie. We always thank them for being our guests and assure them we will see them again upon their migration in the spring!
